Sunday Gratitude
1. I’m grateful for getting older.
It may sound counterintuitive, but with age comes experience and with experience comes patience and wisdom. I’m such a better, more calm person now than when I was younger.
2. I’m grateful for COFFEE.
Yum!
3. I’m grateful I no longer drink alcohol.
I’m nearing the two-year anniversary of when I last drank alcohol. I never had a problem with abuse, but over time I learned that alcohol rarely contributed anything positive to my life, but always contributed something negative. So now it’s no longer a part of my life and I feel fantastic. I don’t miss it a bit.
4. I’m grateful for my body’s ability to heal itself.
I injured my left posterior tibial tendon while running a race nearly two months ago, causing terrible pain in my ankle, arch, and heel. Tendons are notoriously slow to heal, and that has been the case with me, but I have made clear progress. I can now walk and do exercises pain-free, and I believe I’ll be able to start running again sometime in November.
5. I’m grateful for people who pay it forward.
The world has many negative people, unfortunately, but there are also many beautiful, kind ones. When someone pays forward a kindness towards me, it feels pretty special and reminds me to do the same.
6. I’m grateful the U.S. midterm elections will be over soon.
Good lord I’m tired of all the negative political signs on every corner, terrible, angry commercials, and bickering. So much bickering. There are too many angry people out there.
7. I’m grateful for freedom of time.
I’m thrilled I do not have to answer to anyone, go anywhere I don’t want to go, or do anything I don’t want to do. Life is short, folks - stop willingly signing up for modern-day slavery.
8. I’m grateful for Old Navy dark wash boot cut blue jeans.
They look great, they’re comfortable, and they’re only 30 bucks!
9. I’m grateful for kind neighbors.
My neighbors are so nice.
10. I’m grateful for all the abundance in this world.
We live in such a glorious time. Anything we could ever want or need or understand is satisfied by a few taps on a smartphone. There are never-ending opportunities to do what we want, live where we want, and be who we want to be. It never ceases to amaze me.
