Tell about your pets
Our cat "Grace"
1. She just showed up on our back porch
My wife came inside and said "there's a cat just sitting out here". I went out, and of course there was no cat. I told her "that's not how the crazy cat lady thing works"
She didn't laugh.
2. The next day, the cat was there again.
And this time she sat out there for about an hour with us. She was tiny, just a kitten maybe three or four months old.
3. She had no collar, but seemed house broken.
The third day we decided to bring her and and take a good look at her. She was healthy and very friendly.
4. I posted her picture on the "nextdoor" app to see if she had a home
Other than a couple neighbors saying they would take her if we didn't want her, noone claimed her as theirs.
5. My brother in law and his family came to visit us on day 4
They have 5 kids, and there was no way we weren't keeping her at this point. I took her to the vet for her shots and a chip, and got her a collar and a tag.
6. She loves to go outside and roams the neighborhood
The tag says "My name is GRACE, I escaped from (our address). Send me home so I can escape again tomorrow"
She always comes back, sometimes the next morning, and just waits for us to open the door. Then she walks in with no fuss or muss.
Or she stays there, just looking at us like "what?"
7. She is the most chill cat ever
Seriously, she doesn't care. She'll let anyone pick her up, and she doesn't scratch or complain. She'll flop over on you and sleeps on our bed, or wherever.
