Ten Accomplishments This Week
Kinda need to see this for myself, and figured why not share?
1. Substack posts
Trying to get going there... same ID as here. Reading posts and notes, writing some notes, thinking about my 'place' there. Have and will use lists from here for the basis of posts there.
2. Automated Medicaid Billing A/P Entry
I need to record Medicaid income by each of our six residential programs. All are billed in one batch weekly. Have been downloading an Excel file with each client's daily billing (32 clients), setting up columns, inserting rows between each client's activity, and putting in formulas to calculate income by program.
Automated it by just removing all columns except client ID# (no names), date, daily bill total, and program, and prompted ChatGPT to give me totals by program and the client ID#s of those who were absent.
This should save me at least 20 minutes each billing...
3. Grocery Order
Our delivery will be here between 1pm and 1:30pm. Online ordering is a bit of a hack - saves time and avoids a lot of impulse buying (read - what the kid puts in the cart when I'm not looking, lol). Having them pick and deliver - $15.
4. Cleaned / Sorted the Fridge
Just this AM, after the grocery order. Tossed some fossilized stuff and a couple jars that were as good as empty. Our delivery will be here between 1pm and 1:30pm. Online ordering is a bit of a hack - saves time and avoids a lot of impulse buying (read - what the kid puts in the cart when I'm not looking, lol).
5. Church Work
After a lot of year-end January work, got the routine stuff back on track. Still need to complete the January financials, but that is usually Sundays.
6. Side Gig Work - Tracking expenses
Set up a forward to gmail, and a prompt to record and track / total expenses.
7. Created "Decision Scan" System With ChatGPT
A review of what I'm doing that matches my priorities. "Default" tasks,
8. Prompt Backups
In doing #2, realized that after all the back and forth necessary to "get it right" it would make sense to ask ChatGPT to kick back a prompt that would recreate what I asked it to do, in case I need to move it elsewhere. Saved as Word files on my PC.
9. Fraternity House
My fraternity chapter secured a five year lease on a house on the main drag of campus. They had been renting "non-lettered" houses since losing the lease on another (newer) house. My role was more of a sounding board for my chapter brother who is their alumni advisor, but with 12 years of prior experience working for my fraternity's headquarters, I did (and do) bring a knowledge base and skill set that they wouldn't have otherwise.
10. Taking "Clutter" To The Thrift Shop
A box of vases that's been sitting in the dining room for at least two months because, apparently, I'm the only one who can put them in his car and drive them up. In 10 degree weather today. But at least it is done - a grain of sand in the ocean of clutter! :)
