Ten Food Things To Do In New Jersey
In all candor, I've only done #1, 2, 3, & 4.
1. Eat a classic NJ diner breakfast
Try the Tick Tock Diner (Clifton), Skylark (Edison), or Tops (East Newark).
2. Hunt for the best Taylor ham/pork roll sandwich
Bagel shops and delis across the state battle for the crown.
3. Do a pizza tour
Star Tavern (Orange), Razza (Jersey City), Santillo’s (Elizabeth), Papa’s (Robbinsville).
4. Try an Italian hot dog
In Newark, Belleville, or Kenilworth — a North Jersey original.
5. Visit Atlantic City’s Ducktown area
Old-school Italian bakeries & restaurants like White House Subs.
6. Explore Edison/Iselin for Indian food
Oak Tree Road is an entire district of incredible South Asian restaurants and shops.
7. Eat fresh seafood in Cape May
Lobster House, Blue Pig Tavern, or the crab shacks along the coast.
8. Do a ramen & noodle crawl
Montclair, Fort Lee, and Edgewater have great spots (Menya Sandaime, Ani Ramen, Ryujin).
9. Visit a Korean BBQ district
Palisades Park, Fort Lee, and Ridgefield are loaded with authentic options.
10. Tour a winery or brewery
Cape May Brewery, River Horse, Jersey Girl, Alba Vineyards, Beneduce Vineyards.
