Ten Personal Habits
Just thinking about the things I do in my day. Good, bad, or indifferent.
1. Coffee Upgrade
Make with cinnamon powder under the grounds (most days). Add coconut oil and monk fruit sweetener with half and half.
2. Wake Up - Take Care Of The Pets
Feed the cats and the dog. Let the dog out to do his business, get him back in. Feed the fish. Then I can start my day.
3. Sunday - Lunch Prep Day
Make the week's lunches Sunday afternoon. Usually sandwiches, with some cheese chunks.
4. Friday Breakfast
At the deli by the office, pork roll, egg & cheese on a hard roll, roll buttered, with salt, pepper, ketchup. Also get a Mega Millions and Win for Life scratch off ticket.
5. Daily Leaving Work
My office keys are attached to my key ring with one of key ring things that separate. I have the duplicate of the one on my key ring attached to my backpack. I take the keys off my ring and attach them to the one on the backpack to mark the end of the work day.
6. Call Brother Monday On Way Home From Work
Before my mother passed, I'd call her, and talk to my brother and sister other times. Now, I call my brother on Mondays. Still call my sister, just not regularly.
7. Wake Up - E-Mails & Snail Mail
Bad habit... after dealing with the pets, I check e-mails (personal and work) and what I have coming in the mail through the USPS app. Before getting ready for work. Don't like surprises. Productivity folks say not to use this "prime time" for such things, but they also don't account for an office job where you have to drive 30-45 minutes before you can start your day. When I 'retire' and do my side gigs full time, then I'll change this habit.
8. Liquid Supplements In Drinks
I drink flavored seltzer water with green tea mix. I alternate between refills, adding liquid zinc, a BP support liquid, and
9. Doomscrolling
Bad one. Working on cutting this down a lot... but wanting to know what's going on makes it hard.
10. Podcasts
Listen to podcasts while driving. Music usually only on way to or from officiating.
