Ten Recent Annoyances
In a bit of a pissy mood carried over from yesterday...
1. People who create an emergency by ignoring something for two weeks
Their lack of planning suddenly becomes everyone else’s deadline. They never learned the 6 P's - prior planning prevents piss-poor performance.
2. People who reply “Thanks” to an email sent to twenty people
Now everyone gets another notification announcing that one person received the message.
3. Technology that updates itself into becoming less useful
Everything worked yesterday. Today, a button has moved and three settings have disappeared. See: Outlook.
4. Someone calling immediately after sending a text
I saw the text. The phone call did not improve it.
5. Getting Vendors
Want to replace side door steps. Used Angi's List - got two bids, one didn't respond to follow up questions. One didn't quote.
6. Emails that require six replies to settle one minor issue
This could have been handled in two sentences, but somehow we now have a committee.
7. Emails where the world is copied, but none take responsibility
So with two vendors involved, the customer (me) ends up being the project manager otherwise nothing would have gotten done.
8. Packaging that fights back
There should not be a physical endurance test between me and a bottle of vitamins.
9. Meetings that end without a decision
We talked for an hour and somehow left with more uncertainty than we started with.
10. People who ask for advice after already deciding what they are going to do
They do not want guidance. They want applause.
