Ten Small Wins From This Week

    1. Two Faucets Replaced

No, I didn't do it... the plumber did. Two trips, because one of the replacements was the wrong size (I bought it).

    2. WFH Tomorrow

Friday WFHs are always the best.

    3. Car Maintenance

WFH is because my car's getting serviced at a shop in the opposite direction of work. Hopefully, just an oil change and tire sensor fix.

    4. Resting Yesterday

Felt crapped out when I got home. I usually do church treasurer work on Wednesdays, but there was nothing that couldn't wait. So I let it go and took it easy. And got a good night sleep last night. Of course, that means I'll be doing it today.

    5. Getting on track with Substack

Trying to put out regular content there... about judgment — how to think clearly, decide wisely, and stay human in a world increasingly run by systems, noise, and AI. Tie in some about football officiating (which fits the theme), some humor and insight. See where it goes.

And, I'm using my better lists from here as source material!

    6. At Work - Automating With AI

I've set up several prompts to do calculations that I'd normally be manually manipulating in Excel. And looking for more I can do.

    7. At Work - Getting Information Ahead Of Time

I'd normally hear of new admissions after the fact, when if I knew ahead of time I could get the person set up in our systems. Finally, the boss let me know -and- got me the basic information I needed to get the client (and their parents) set up before they moved in.

    8. At Work - Early Budget Prep Start

We're on a July fiscal year, and I normally start budget prep in late March. Had some time, got started today.

    9. No Snow Injuries

Yes, tired and a bit sore, but got through the shoveling and car cleaning without any slips, pulls, tears, or significant damage.

    10. Sourced A "New" Couch

Our living room couch (in my opinion) has always sucked. The wife finally acknowledged it when she hurt her back and couldn't get up easily. Now she has one of those lift / heat chairs. And the center of the couch is wrecked because that's where the dog looks out the window.

My sister (who lives in Mom's condo) is gearing up to move so we can sell it. And, she didn't get rid of Mom's nice couch and love seat - she's not taking it. So, we just have to go pick it up - either in our van, or borrow my brother's pickup.

Of course, that's when the weather is a bit nicer. In a week or two...?
