Ten Things I'll Do On Vacation
We're going away (yes, I scheduled posts for those days). Staying at the SIL's condo on a lake in New Hampshire. Not my choice - I wanted to stay home and get things done at home. What will I be doing?
1. Sleeping
My sleep schedule is FUBAR. Maybe I can get it back on track, so if that means staying in bed, so be it.
2. Studying For Officiating Football
Way behind in prep for next season. First scrimmage is 8/20. Twelve chapter study guide, so one or two a day will get me back on track.
3. Working
Yes, I'll have to do some Medicaid billing work while I'm away, because the employer doesn't cross-train on critical functions. But I'll have the work laptop, so I can surf the net if I want.
4. Keeping My Mouth Shut
The SIL and her husband are of a different political bent, and between that and the way they (and their adult children) treated me and our son who were unvaxxed during the lockdowns, I'll have to either keep my mouth shut, or let the sh*&t hit the fan. And then head home.
5. Reading
Will bring some casual reading, and some self-improvement reading.
6. Watching Movies
The SIL told the wife to bring some DVDs (they don't have internet). The wife asked me what I wanted to bring. I said I don't care. I really won't
Maybe I'll be passive aggressive and bring stuff they will hate - MXC, The Prisoner series, WWE PPVs. Yeah, that's the ticket!
7. Not Exercising
The BIL said he'd ride mountain bike trails with my son. And they'll all hike. I have given myself the week off from exercising.
8. Eating
Will look to find cool local places to try. Know to not try the local pizza (bad experience in NH as a kid), but there should be a few good places to get grub.
9. Star Gazing
If there's a decent view.
10. Napping
Yes, beyond sleeping.
