Ten Ways A Child of the Sixties Would Hate Growing Up Today

I resemble these remarks...

    1. Constant supervision

Fewer chances to roam freely without adults tracking every move.

    2. Screen-saturated life

Trading outdoor boredom (and creativity) for endless digital stimulation.

    3. Social media pressure

Identity shaped publicly, with likes, comments, and comparison always on.

    4. Less unstructured time

Heavier schedules, organized activities, and less “figure it out yourself.”

    5. Higher parental involvement

More rules, more check-ins, fewer independent decisions.

    6. Digital permanence

Mistakes that once faded now live online indefinitely.

    7. Academic pressure earlier

Performance expectations starting younger and lasting longer.

    8. Reduced risk-taking

Fewer chances to take small risks and learn from them firsthand.

    9. Less face-to-face interaction

Communication shifting from in-person to screens.

    10. Always reachable

No real “off” time from parents, friends, or obligations.

    11. Excess Information

24/7 news cycle, too much political rancor, etc.

    12. No Heroes

Default is to knock down those who accomplish and do good.
