1. The ego's rigged game of duality.
The party is the ego’s invitation to the world, where every illusion is dressed up like cheesecake — tempting, irresistible, but ultimately costly. No one walks into the ego’s party thinking they’ll lose; they believe the party offers something of value, but that's part of the illusion. The ego makes the gamble look winnable, but the game is rigged because it’s built on lack, fear, and separation.
You lose not because you’re weak or unworthy, but because the odds were never in your favor. And blaming "the house" (the ego) for your loss is the ego’s way of keeping you in the game. But — and this is key — you were always free to leave. The moment you walked in was a choice, and ACIM teaches that you could have always chosen differently.
When you remove yourself from the problem, you make the problem unsolvable. The ego convinces you that the problem is external — that the house is to blame — when in reality, the problem is the decision you made to walk in. The only solution is to recognize that you never needed to be at the party in the first place.
The invitation was just that — an invitation. You were free to decline. The ego may have put you on the guest list, but ACIM teaches that your true freedom lies in the power to choose not to engage with the illusion at all.
How’s that for a morning wake up call?
