The Power of Positive Puttering

Most people putter from time to time. For some it is to pass the time. For others, it is a way to relax or burn off energy. This can be directed towards positive outcomes.

    1. No expectations

    It doesn’t matter how much or how little you do. You’re just puttering.

    2. No stress

    This stems directly from the lack of expectation.

    3. Feeling of accomplishment

    You Will inevitably finish a task once in a while. And that always feels good.

    4. Not a large commitment.

    Puttering isn’t like a job or a chore. It only takes a few minutes. After all, you’re just puttering.

    5. You can do anything for 15-30 minutes

    Cleaning the house might take all day. But how long does it take to clear the table?

    6. Larger tasks are taken in smaller chunks.

    Earlier, you cleared the table. Now you feel like puttering again. Why not vacuum the floor?

    7. You usually putter alone.

    We all need quiet time to think. And doing simple tasks can increase focus.
