The Scout Oath Explained

1. On my honor

I’m putting my personal integrity on the line

2. I will do my my best

I will give a full and complete effort

3. To do my duty

There is a bond and right action to take

4. To God and my country

We owe fealty to our country and a higher power

5. And to obey the Scout Law.

As a member of an organization, we agree to abide their rules as well.

6. To help other people at all times

We also have a duty to each other.

7. To keep myself physically strong

Physical well being is an essential part of overall health

8. Mentally awake

We promise to not only be observant of our surroundings but to think and draw conclusions while keeping an open mind.

9. And morally straight.

We all have an innate sense of right and wrong. Always be right and true to yourself.
