Things That Made An Impression While Visiting Iceland
Still there for a couple of more days. Will have a longer list about the trip after we get home. We drove around the island on the Ring Road.
1. "The winters are really bad"
We were in Seydisfjordur. It's a very small town nestled into a canyon on the east coast. I asked someone at the place where we ate about the winters and without hesitating she said they're bad. Crazy deep snow every year.

2. "We all have really big freezers"
We spent some time in an art gallery in Fáskrúðsfjörður and again asked about the winters. I am curious I guess. The freezer comment struck a cord about mitigating or solving your own problems.

3. Lack of chaos
Things don't seem to get mishandled or otherwise fucked up here. Very casual observation of course but as an example, we had breakfast in Vik on Monday morning. The place was packed and no food/coffee orders were mishandled.
