Things to improve the process of changing car tires.
So I did the seasonal tire swap on the vehicles this weekend. I am sure that you are all green with envy after that statement, but I assure you that it was not a rosy as it seems. It took a bit to get my head in the game. I kept misplacing tools, and on the one car all 4 wheels had rusted onto the hubs.
This list is meant as a gift to future me who will be swapping tires again in the spring.

1. Use a screw gun for speed.
2. Check tire pressure before putting the tires on.
Ideally do this a week before. this will allow failed tires to be replaced
3. Put small tools and supplies in a bucket.
I started doing this half way through the job. Put the nuts into the bucket as they are removed so they are not in the way when putting the tire on. List of tools:
- Lithium grease
- Penetrating oil
- Brake cleaner(In case of overspray of oil)
- Tire iron
- Screw gun
- Pressure gauge
4. Add lithium grease to the wheel hub to prevent rust.
5. Clean rims before putting the tires away. Do this in one spot to contain the mess.
6. Have some tools that don't fit in the bucket stationed near the car.
- Air compressor with air bib
- Sledge hammer
7. Get a depth gauge to monitor wear.
8. Make note of any tires that need to be replaced before next season.
9. Jack up whole side of the car rather than one corner at a time.
10. Do other maintenance while the car is up on jack stands.
This won't help the tire change, but it will help with overall car maintenance.
