Thinking about what I could do to survive an economic recession. Here are 5 options that might be helpful.
As the economy slips into recession, it’s important to have a plan for maintaining my career. Here are five steps I am taking today to help make sure I stay on track:

1. Maintain network of contacts and references.
1. Get in touch with your contacts and references. If they know who you are and what you can do, they can refer jobs to you when they come up.
2. Learn something new, get a certification or just stay up to date on your industry skills.
Get certifications or additional education. This will allow you to expand your skill set beyond what is currently in demand, making it easier for you to find work in the future.
3. Networking on Social Media
Network on LinkedIn and Twitter! These platforms are great for connecting with others who may have opportunities for you in their companies or personal networks.
4. Start a business or make money from a passion project.
Start a business or make money from a passion project. If the economy is bad enough that there aren’t any jobs available, why not try starting yourself? You don’t need much money or experience—just an idea and some drive!
