Just something that I tried to challenge myself without using a dictionary or web

1. Lion

the king of something...

2. Wolf

Also the king of something!

3. Arctic Wolf

Yeah, this counts.

4. Rabbit

Something my hometown is overrun in. Perhaps we need another fox to help with the overpopulation.

5. Fox

Probably a brown fox.

6. Gorilla

I should have put this first because gorillas are awesome, but this list is in no particular order!

7. Bat

They're great survivors!

8. Burrow Owl

"Everybody knows a burrow owl lives in a hole in the ground! Why do you think they call it a burrow owl anyway? (points if you know the song/band without using the interwebs)

9. Cobra

I think that role was performed by Sylvester Stallone, another Philly guy!

10. Giraff

That's the Olde English spelling.
