Top Baseball Prospects of 2022
I know most of you could care less about unknown baseball players, but I just ran my yearly screen for baseball prospects, and this year's group is by far the most talented group I've ever come across. Of these 12 prospects, we should see about 6 of them become All-stars one day, and probably 1 or 2 of these players are future Hall of Famers. I'll be hunting for autographs from all of these players over the next few years.

1. Corbin Carroll
He was a 1st round draft pick in 2019, this year's USA Today Minor League Player of the Year, and made his MLB debut this season, racking up 1.2 WAR in 32 games.
2. Yoshinobu Yamamoto
Over the past 3 seasons playing for the Japan Pacific League, Yoshinobu has compiled a 41-14 record with a 1.70 ERA and 560 strikeouts in 513.1 innings pitched. The Yankees are currently trying to acquire him.
3. Gunnar Henderson
He's this year's Baseball America Minor League Player of the Year.
4. Nolan Gorman
This second baseman was drafted in the 1st round by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2018, and made his MLB debut this year, hitting .226 with 14 home runs in 283 at-bats.
5. Jackson Holliday
He was taken as the #1 overall draft pick this year by the Baltimore Orioles.
6. Ivan Melendez
Nicknamed "The Hispanic Titanic," Melendez won both the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy for his performance on the Texas Longhorns this past year.
7. Druw Jones
He's the son of former baseball star Andruw Jones, and was selected #2 overall in this year's MLB Draft.
8. Osleivis Basabe
His name doesn't roll off the tongue, but he's intriguing because he consistently hits over .300 at every level of baseball he's played in. Basabe is a slap hitter with good speed but not much power.
9. Sal Frelick
Another 1st round draft pick. He hit .365 in 189 at-bats, and had a .943 OPS while playing with the AAA Nashville Sounds this season.
10. DL Hall
Drafted in the 1st round of the 2017 MLB Draft, Hall has been one of baseball's top pitching prospects for the past few years. He made his MLB debut this season for the Baltimore Orioles, striking out 19 batters in 13.2 innings.
11. Brice Turang
Brice comes from a baseball family, with his father being a former MLB player and his mother playing twice in the Women's College World Series in softball. He was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 1st round of the 2018 MLB Draft.
12. Francisco Alvarez
This 20-year-old Venezuelan power-hitting catcher has drawn comparisons with Hall of Fame catcher Mike Piazza. He made his MLB debut this season for the New York Mets.
