1. The Narrow Gate to Forgiveness.
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Matthew 7:13-14
The narrow gate is a metaphor, not to be taken literally. The "narrow gate" symbolizes choosing love, forgiveness, and inner peace, while the "wide gate" symbolizes the ego's path of fear, judgment, and separation.
The "narrow gate" is the path of forgiveness and letting go of ego-based thinking. It's "narrow" because it requires vigilance, a willingness to change perceptions, and a consistent choice for love over fear. This is the only path that leads to inner peace.
The "wide gate" that leads to destruction is the ego's thought system, which is illusory and ultimately leads to suffering. It's "wide" because it's the default mode of thinking for most of us and is based on separation, judgment, and fear.
"Those who find it are few" isn't a literal statement about salvation but an observation that many of us remain caught in ego-based thinking. Everyone of us will eventually awaken to our true nature, but some of us will undoubtedly take longer paths.
We must focus on making an internal choice between love (the narrow gate) and fear (the wide gate), rather than being concerned with a literal afterlife destination. Our earthly journey is all about healing our minds through forgiveness and choosing peace in the present moment.
