Ways to Use Scrap Yarn
One of the biggest problems that knitters have is what to do with all of the yarn that's left over from previous projects. There are usually one or two small balls that you feel guilty about. They lie in your yarn bins or baskets, their existence accusing you of buying too much. Here are a few good ideas about how to get rid of them.
1. Make a yearly temperature blanket
Gather up a bunch of leftover balls. Start a blanket and knit a few rows or a row every day, with a different color ball of yarn based on a temperature range. Over a month, your blanket may shift a little. Over the year, you will see a larger range (depending on where you live). If you live in a state impacted by climate change - maybe not so much. 2. Make a scarf
You can switch from color to color in a pattern or just knit and change up when you run out of a ball
3. Make Mittens
You can make scrap mittens with different yarn scraps
4. Knit a hat
There are a ton of scrap hat patterns. My favorite is: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/helly
