1. The Mountains Are Right. There.

Hiking, scenery and skiing

2. The Valley Is Lush And Fertile.

Lots of agriculture means access to fresh eggs, meat and produce.

3. Lots of Churches

This means activities for youth, charitable works and a strong sense of community.

4. Mild Weather - Early Spring (By Canadian Standards)

I took out my garbage a few weeks ago (early February) in flip-flops and short sleeves - that would have been unthinkable in most places in Canada that I can think of.

5. Small Town - Short Commutes

My wife thinks everything in town is 10 minutes away - she's wrong, it can be 15 or even 20 in the worst traffic, but that's still pretty good.

6. The U.S. Border is very close by

7. Vancouver is only an hour away

8. The Local Airport has cheap flights to great destinations
