What did you like most about your favorite instructors?

I've never had a bad teacher or instructor that I can remember. I've been so lucky!

1. Challenged our thinking profound ideas

2. Went beneath the text to explain the deeper meaning

3. Had a great sense of humor

4. Obvious that they cared deeply about the subject matter and wanted to share with others

5. Gave credit to students working hard, and pushed them across the finish line if they fell just short of their goals

6. Would tell interesting stories from real life that made the subject matter more relevant

7. Focused on students making above average effort, rather than the just the best students or those making little or no effort

8. Asked the class thought provoking questions that encouraged meaningful discussion rather then quizzing students or putting them on the spot

9. Exuded warmth, it felt good to be around them, and you don't want to disappoint them

10. Honest compliments and encouragement to students
