What is great about California

It seemed like every shopping center was filled with businesses. Lots of restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

It would be easy to find a job working at a local business like a restaurant. I am sure it is much harder to get a well paying job at a large company or possibly in the entertainment industry.

I was shocked at how affordable food is in California. Pretty much the same prices as in Texas.

Now, housing, taxes and transportation is much more expensive.

There are so many trees and flowers in Los Angeles. It is an interesting mix or pine trees because of the local mountains and tropical plants due to the climate.

My friend just planted a bunch of multi-color rose bushes in his front yard and they were massive.

They also have fruit trees planted throughout the neighborhoods. I saw lemon, orange, apple and avocado.

If you need something to do, you can always go to the beach and the ocean.

I have been a bunch of times to LA and I always find something new to do. This time I did: The Jennifer Hudson Show, Buddhist Temple, Pizza with the baby down the street, Dinner at The Smoke House With Roberta, Warner Bros Studios.

There is definitely pollution. But it never got too hot. And then it cools way down at night.

I was able to set up a 1 year old birthday party outside because the weather was so nice.

The local community school: K-8 provides breakfast and lunch and then after school activities, as well as day care that could last till 8pm. They also have a local park and pool open to the public.

There are tons of hiking trails you could use to stay healthy and active.

Traffic is really not that bad if you map out where you are going. Basically use Google Maps to figure out which spots to avoid. The highways have a lot of lanes along with HOV so sometimes it might be slow, but it rarely comes to a complete stop where you are not moving for hours.

Also, LA is a really large geographic area so it could take a long time to get from Long Beach to Hollywood simply because of distance.
