What were your worst experiences at jobs you worked at?
1. Drive thru at Starbucks
I remember making a milky drink and accidentally squeezed the drink too hard and it crushed in my hand getting milk all over everything.
2. Selling websites
I had to cold call potential customers for 8hrs a day.
3. Women yelling at me at the Apple Store
She thought the government was spying on her using her phone. Nothing much I could do but sit there and be yelled at.
4. Selling jewelry at Macy's
I basically just stood there until someone came by and wanted to look at something. But then my 'boss' would yell at me for not selling enough to meet the quota. Thankfully I moved on to a different department quickly.
5. Insecure boss
I did tech support for a utility software company and one day my boss started screaming at me for attending a meeting without his knowledge. He showed me how to do everything and reviewed all of the work that I did. It would have been faster for him to do the work himself.
Luckily I took the time at that company to learn how to do SQL queries.
6. Moving and installing palm trees
I worked at a plant nursery where they sold and installed palm trees. Those things are really sharp and difficult to deal with.
7. Construction in Texas
Everything related to home building. Installing grass, lawn mowing. Roofing. Framework. Concrete. All in Texas summer heat.
8. Selling cigarettes at Walgreens
I always found it strange that a health store would sell cigarettes. But then again it also brought in a lot of customers. I knew none of the brands and people would get upset when I could not find what they were looking for or they would be upset that we ran out of what they wanted.
9. Party Planner Installer
Moving heavy flowers, furniture etc.
Having to pack and unpack furniture. Long hours setting up and tearing down parties.
10. Going through 4 interviews and then not getting the job
I really wanted to work for a large financial company. They kept calling me back to come in for interviews and then finally after the 4th interview they called and said I did not get the job.
11. Being told there were no full time positions opened
I could work at the business part time, but they would never hire me as a full time employee.
12. Being reprimanded for working too much
I went over 40 hours in one week and the manager yelled at me and told me if I did it again I would be fired.
