Your Harness Money Binder
These are the physical documents that I keep in my money binder.
Make sure your dependent(s) know where and how to access this binder in case something happens to you.
- Who to contact first (estate attorney, CPA, employer)
- How to get access to cash
- Any bills/loans that need immediate attention
- Access to key documents (e.g., Medical Directive)
- Things not to worry about right away
- Our investments–I rarely make changes to our investments, so no need to worry about them immediately. You can literally go years without making changes. So take your time to learn and seek advice.
1. Start
Welcome to my life binder. If I am not around anymore, you can use this binder to get access to all the different areas of my life.
2. Revocable Trust
Ideally you should put your financial assets: IRA, stock account, in the name of the revocable trust in case something happens to you and to avoid going through court probate.
3. Funeral sendoff
What do you want your sendoff to look like?
Your own Eulogy.

The document that lays out what you want to happen to your financial assets when you die.
5. Medical Power of Attorney
This document spells out your medical wishes. DNR. etc.

Anything you think is important should be in the healthcare section of your binder.

Your financial snapshot.
16. Life advice letter
17. Copy of your last tax return
Could come in handy.
