10 "business news" phrases that annoy me

This type of news is populated by clueless blowhards. Very few have ever done anything useful. My wife watches it all day long, so I can't really get away from it.

    1. From the XYZ perspective

They always say "from the consumer perspective," "from the business perspective."

    2. In the XYZ space

In the steaming space, in the real estate space.

    3. The Market says/thinks

    Anthropomorphism.

    4. This is a "double top/ head and shoulders" or other technical analysis jargon

That only really works in hindsight, or if enough people believe it and act on it so that it actually happens

    5. "AI"

in 2023-2024 this phrase was uttered 10x a minute all day

    6. In this climate…

It's an unnecessary phrase. There is always a climate.

    7. “What do you think about that/what’s your take?”

Inviting someone, usually a moron or sociopath, to pontificate. Painful.

    8. “Here’s the thing…”

Here is a typical lead-up to opinion presented as "truth." Frequently the beginning of an answer to "what's your take?"

    9. I’m short this. Long that…

Where their funds are invested in 100 things and they only mention their winners

    10. Is this a bubble?

They are always looking for something to be a bubble. If there truly is one, you will not learn much about it by watching business news.
