10 inexpensive and durable food items for a healthy diet
I don't like going shopping. Also, when times are tough, it feels good to be able to put food on the table for a few weeks if necessary. And finally, cooking with such cheap food shows how little we really need.
1. Dried or canned legumes
Beans, lentils, peas. For all kinds of stews and soups.2. Apples

Adds flavor to stews and soups. Essential for ham and eggs. Can be stored for months. Not that cheap, but not expensive either. And just delicious!
