10 creative ways to improve your dating profile

    1. Put your best photo as the first one

    2. Don't put any photos at all!

If you are in a professional field where looks don't matter, then put no photo and let people message you first. This works especially well if you are in a creative field or an entrepreneur. People will be curious and will want to know more.

    3. Have a video profile.

People love to watch videos and they get 10x more views than photos. Make a 2 minute video of yourself introducing yourself and describing what you are looking for and why people should date you. You can even do this on TikTok or Musical.ly or some other platform that makes it easy (I've never done it). This is better than having a photo because it's more engaging for someone who might be scrolling through profiles quickly (which is everyone). The only downside is that people might think "this guy is making a video about himself...he must really like himself." But most people don't have the courage to make their own video so this can be an advantage for you.

    4. Write an article instead of putting up a dating profile

Have you ever seen dating profiles on OKCupid written by someone in their 40s? They always say, "I'm looking for someone who wants kids." Well, why not just write an article called, "Why I Want Kids Now That I am in My 40s"? Then link to that article on all your social media accounts AND your dating profile(s). It might be weird but it will work better than saying "I want kids" on your dating profile which has zero credibility attached to it since everyone says it anyway.

    5. Be honest about what you are looking for but with benefits they might not expect

For instance, if you have money but want someone very attractive, say so upfront but then list the benefits of each quality as if they are reasons why YOU would benefit from them. Example: "Attractive" - I like being with beautiful women- Gives me bragging rights- Makes me look good to my friends- Makes me feel good about myself- etc

"Money" - I want someone who can help me invest my money wisely- Someone who understands how hard I worked to earn this money- Someone who can help me spend my money wisely (i.e., doesn't blow $10k shopping at Saks)- Someone who won't leave me when I lose half my net worth (which will probably happen eventually)

Other qualities - Creative / funny / smart / entrepreneurial / etc - All these qualities would make me more fun to hang out with and gives me new ideas/people/companionship/etc

So there's the honest benefit of each quality even though those benefits are sort of stereotypical but whatever .

    6. Be funny! But also serious! And specific! And weird! And unique! And don't lie!

Here's an example from Robyn Metcalfe's OKCupid profile (she was on TBS' "In Search Of". She was voted #1 by men):

    7. Don't put up any photos at all until people message you first

In fact, put up NO information except maybe where you went to school or something like that so they know they have the right person if they
