10 epic record albums that were recorded very quickly

Aside from any live albums, that would’ve been recorded in real time, these are some legendary records that were done very quickly. The Beach Boys and the Beatles were the first bands to take months to make a record album, which set the pace for how records have been made ever since.

    1. Black Sabbath Black Sabbath: One day. 12 hours.

    2. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin: 36 hours

"According to Jimmy Page, it took 36 hours spread out over several weeks. He thinks it was recorded in 36 hours because they paid for recording time of 36 hours." Source

    3. Captain Beefheart Trout Mask Replica: six hours

The band lived in a house and rehearsed 8 to 14 hours a day for eight months, but when they went into the studio, they were ready. Beefheart did a few days of overdubs over the the next few days but the band was tight.

The music sounds like the band is falling down the stairs, but it is very difficult music that's played very intentionally in that style.

    4. Beatles’ Please Please Me: One Day

    5. Miles Davis: Bitches Brew: 3 Days

Kind of Blue was only 2 days, but it was more of a live record.

    6. Robert Johnson Legendary Blues Guitarist: all known recordings: 5 days

    7. The White Stripes: White Blood Cells recorded in less than 4 days

Apparently, Jack White has a record for recording and releasing a song on a pressed record in three hours 55 minutes.

    8. The Velvet Underground & Nico, White Light/White Heat: 2 days

    9. Ramones - Ramones: 1 week

    10. Manowar - Hail to England: 6 days
