These are not specific trails but the types of walks to explore as you begin to build strength and stamina for more difficult routes.
Well groomed and relatively flat
1. Rail trails
2. Canalway towpaths
Climate controlled and not weather dependent.
3. Walk your local shopping mall.
Usually found in coastal areas but other riverine systems have them as well
I usually find this boring but it is a defined distance where you can measure your pace, stride, time, etc. And there is usually one close by.
5. The local school track
Most will have a groomed loop trail with convenient parking and public transportation.
6. Town / County park
Do a search for your locale.
Another term to search for. Could include several of the ideas above.
8. Linear parks
Can be more difficult than those listed above.Your best bet on most ocean beaches will be near low tide.
9. The beach
Many large bridges include a pedestrian walkway. Usually well maintained, minimal gradient, if any, and often good sightseeing.
