10 Reasons to Stay in the Corporate Rat Race

For myself I’m not in the corporate rat race, but a grateful public servant.

1. Pension

I have little more than 6 years left until I can collect full benefits.

2. Health Insurance

Health insurance is expensive especially when your not receiving a plan compared to individual underwriting basis And larger co-pays.

3. Steady income

Its nice knowing when the next paycheck is coming, and the amount is predictable with little surprises.

4. Time off

Even being mandated for overtime I find time for my side hustles and family. Even though work does get in the way a lot.

5. Security

With the recession and financial instability I’m pretty safe

6. I still have more to give

Even working in a negative environment I feel I have more to offer.

7. People I work with (most of)

I enjoy almost all the people I work with including supervisors and administrators.

8. Fear of starting over

I make good money, and don’t want to start at the bottom someplace else

9. 403(b)

Tax deferred investment (comparable to a 401k) another supplement. Positive

10. Going through another interview process

As someone who hates dating and especially first dates, this is a big one for me!
