    1. Book: Govt Cheese by Steven Pressfield

Steven is the author of "The War of Art" as well the bestselling novel "The Legend of Bagger Vance" (also an excellent movie) and many other books. This is his memoir.

    2. Book: Discipline is Destiny by Ryan Holiday

In his Stoicism series. He's really mastered the art of telling great stories intermixed with his philosophical modern-day interpretation of Stoicism.

    3. Comedy special: "Jew" by Ari Shaffir

Doesn't matter if you are Jewish or not. This one had my entire family laughing non-stop.

    4. TV show: "Atlanta"

I can't tell if this is a comedy (it is), a drama (it is), or just a super creative piece of art using TV as the medium (it is). Donald Glover keeps reminding us he's a genius.

Along the lines of "Atlanta", another super creative comedy is the show "Dave". I can't recommend it enough.

    5. TV show: "Yellowstone"

I don't like westerns. I don't care about Montana. I have never even thought about Montana. I don't care much for horses. I've never been a fan of Kevin Costner.

But I guess put all of these things together plus the writing of Taylor Sheridan and you have an amazing amazing show. Plus the prequel "1883" and I'm looking forward to the next prequel: "1929".

    6. Novel: "The Long Walk" by Stephen King

Not a new book. And this was written by Stephen King when he was using his pseudonym, Richard Bachman.

People consider King a genre writer. He's not. Or, at least, I am not sure what that term means. He's simply a great writer.

"The Long Walk" is relatively short by him but it contains great themes that we see now in so many recent books and novels and it really demonstrates what a strong storytelling voice King has and asks many questions about what why we do the things we do. Plus, it was a page-turner.

    7. Email newsletters I would recommend:

Look up the newsletters of Codie Sanchez (side income), Trung Phan (crazy stories about business) , Sahil Bloom (great ideas about mindset) , Joe Pompliano (interesting stories on the intersection of sports and finance, something I thought I would not be interested in until I read his newsletter).

Special mention also to: "The Daily Stoic" from Ryan Holiday and "5 Bullet Friday" from Tim Ferris. I always read those.

    8. Chess learning site: ChessMood

Whether you are an absolute beginner or a professional, ChessMood.com is an unbelievable site to get better quickly. Hundreds of hours of videos all done by Grandmasters. I appreciate that Avetik Grigoryan, who created the site, is an avid reader of many of my favorite authors (Tim Ferris, Derek Sivers, Ryan Holiday, etc etc) and uses many of the principles in these books to create his educational videos.

    9. Mind-f*88 movie of the year: "Coherence"

A wild movie. Still thinking about it about six months after I saw it.

Also really enjoyed "Hustle" with Adam Sandler.

    10. New podcast I'd recommend

Andrew Huberman's podcast on neuroscience has been fascinating.

    11. I have a lot more recommendations

But I'll start with these ten.
