10 reflections on annual goals after 2 months
After 2 months some things have gone well, others less so.

1. Spend time to make sure that your annual goals are still ones that you want to pursue
I got some new ones and some of the others seem less important
2. tighten up the deadlines
I recently read a post about "The 12 Week Year" From @paolo that was spot on. A tighter deadline helps you produce. Give yourself an hour before work/lunch/etc. to finish something, use a pomodoro.
3. Keeping up with a reading goal has been life changing
It is challenging but I have learned a lot.
4. Keeping up with NotePD and 10 ideas a day has been life changing
Thank you @JamesAltucher for creating this site! I hope you maintain the drive to keep it going.
5. The combination of reading and lists is a super power
They feed into each other
6. I have been spending more time on the low hanging fruit (reading) and procrastinating on the side hustles
I am ok with this (I have a good day job!) but I can steer the ship a little bit more toward the side hustles.
7. Making things takes longer than I thought
I have some guitar building projects that are taking months longer than I thought they would. That is a hobby so it is not a big deal but something to keep in mind with goal setting.
8. Having deadlines or a publishing schedule is important for publishing content or creating anything
It is amazing what you can get done in a week, a day, or an hour if you give yourself a deadline. Make creating this schedule a prioritized task and spend time on it: how will you create things, do you need guests for a podcast? Topics for a book? Time for finish to cure on some furniture?
9. 10 goals in a month/week almost guarantees that some will go unfinished
You can either be OK with this or...
10. Write the 3 goals that you MUST do next week/month and focus on just those.
Make these goals SMART and small. I have 3 goals for this week that altogether should take me less than 10 hours. I still have not started (haha) but I have an achievable set of goals. I also do a lot of other stuff besides these goals but these 3 goals will get me closer to my longer term goals. These short term goals should be less like "cure cancer" and more like "create a publishing schedule" or "lay out the backyard garden plan with precise measurements on a piece of paper"
