10 Steps to Setting up a Recurring Income Amazon KDP Business

A "KDP Business" is one where you create 100 books (give or take) and audiobooks and get a recurring income stream from sales of those books. I use "100" as a placeholder. It can be any number.

This is one of those types of businesses that if I were 18 I would totally do this and skip college.

    1. Pick a category like Self-help

    Self-help is a reliable category.

    2. Come up with 20 or so topics

For instance, for self-help: habits, persuasion, charisma, financial success, relationship success, etc.

    3. Do your research

Whatever your topic: go to SSRN.com (or some other academic research site) and search for "habits" or "sales" or whatever to see what the latest academic research is on habits, etc.

    4. Make titles

"The 10 Best Habits You Need for Success". And those 10 will be based on the research you've done.

    5. Hire a ghostwriter

A million websites out there can help you find a ghostwriter for a few hundred dollars or less. Fiverr , for instance.

    6. Hire a writer to make the book and audiobook within a month.

    7. Upload to Amazon KDP and Audible. Make it an ebook and available as a paperback.

    8. Use Amazon Ads to advertise your title.

    9. Make the next book.

Try to come up with a book or two a month.

    10. The 80/20 rule will apply.

80% of your revenues will come from 20% of your books. 50% of your revenues will come from 1% of your books.

    11. Within a year, you should be making $5-10,000 a month or more in net income.

    12. Flip the business and start over.

As an example: here's a business that has about 50 books (and about 125 audiobooks) and makes $4300 a month income and is selling for $160,000.
