10 Tech Tools for a Better Life

These are some of my favorite tools that help me maximize productivity & effectiveness in my day-to-day life. Primarily on social media & with copywriting but also in my daily business activities.

    1. QuillBot

Your text cheat code. Summarize notes, expand text, paraphrase things, reword sentences, and so much more. This is one of the coolest apps I use, and it's a great way to take someone's "About" section on LinkedIn and read it in two sentences versus 3k characters.

    2. Keyboard Replacement / Text Expander

I use my iPhone's native keyboard replacement function which most people don't even know about. This takes a short code message and expands it into whatever I want. I've heard of Text Expander but haven't used it. But it seems like a great alternative solution. What do I use this for?

    • Credit card info: enter my last 4 digits, and the whole thing spits out
    • Addresses: type "adr" and it types out my full address
    • Meeting Links: a relevant code to type my full Calendly link – this one is amazing
    • Introductions: three letters type out a full introduction text message

I'm not linking this one as I haven't used it.

iPhone users go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement

    3. Hemingway Editor

Write so easily a 3rd grader can understand you. This app is a game changer when it comes to writing content. It'll tell you what reading level you're writing at. Simplify your sentences to make them easier to read. Your audience will thank you.

    4. Taplio

Game changer for scheduling LinkedIn posts. This can help you come up with ideas as well as automate DMs for various purposes. I primarily use it to queue my posts for the day, but there's much more to it!

    5. Shieldapp

One of the best ways to see detailed analytics about your LinkedIn content. You can even add multiple accounts to see stats across multiple profiles. This lets you tag posts to filter them accordingly and drill down all the stats you would want.

    7. Otter.ai

Transcribe your meetings LIVE, so you don't need to worry about smashing notes into your CRM while on a Zoom call. Copy & paste while people are talking or do it after the meeting. You can even share them with a VA to use Quillbot to summarize the meeting notes – that's right, dual app usage here... talk about leveraging tools!

    8. Calendly / Google Calendar

You don't get on my calendar without my link. I put everything on my calendar, so I never miss it. Treat blocked times to get things done just as importantly as a client meeting and always show up. This way, you never get scheduled over times you have set with yourself to get stuff done.

    10. Splice

A fantastic video editing app for mobile. I've tested many, but I like this one the most. It's best for the initial edit, adding music, timing clips + adding image overlays, and things like that. I use Instagram for captions with the caption sticker.
