1. Ask for a 360 review.
This includes your management, your co-workers, and any direct reports or contractors you are responsible for.
2. Find out what is not being accomplished.
3. Do that!
4. Create a list of 10 actionable items to improve your company.
5. Do a little of that.
Don't try to be responsible for all of it.
6. Offer to be a mentor.
Are there others in the office that could benefit from your experience?
7. Offer to be a mentee.
Is there someone in the office that you could shadow?
8. Manage your time.
We all have wasted time. And we all need breaks. As much as possible, create a personal schedule and stick to it.
9. Get enough rest and sleep.
Similar to above, but this time be jealous of your "off-duty" time. Don't bring work home. And get to bed on time.
10. Ask your boss.
Just be prepared for the boss to not have a good answer...
