10 Things I Learned from the July Altucher Newsletter
1. Buy ETH at current levels.
ETH price has potential to keep increasing due to increased demand and shrinking supply coming with new ETH merge.
2. There are more ETH transactions per day than BTC.
Bitcoin Transactions Per Day is at a current level of 273,976.0, up from 260195.0 yesterday and up from 235,680.0 one year ago. This is a change of 5.30% from yesterday and 16.25% from one year ago
Ethereum Transactions Per Day is at a current level of 1.204M, up from 1.191M yesterday and up from 1.195M one year ago. This is a change of 1.09% from yesterday and 0.77% from one year ago.
3. BTC transactions have grown 16.25% YOY, while ETH transactions have remained flat.
This is surprising as I would have thought ETH transactions would be increasing as more applications are developed. Perhaps the system is already at it's max?
4. Google Trends shows ETH Merge interest at all time high, with Wisconsin leading the way.
This makes sense as ETH Merge date was announced as happening in 3 months. It was surprising to see Wisconsin ranked #1.
5. Gold has remained relatively flat over the past 2 years, which has seen wild swings in most asset classes.
6. Gold might be due for a run up in price, so consider investing in WPM.
WPM is a gold streaming company that invests in mines and receive a portion of the metals extracted. They have locked in gold prices at $433 per oz. The price of gold currently sits at $1,698 oz.
7. Paul Merriman's simple 4 Fund Equity Portfolio with equal weighted equities portfolio that tilts towards small caps and value stocks significantly outperforms the S&P 500 over 50 year time horizon.
Tilt towards small caps and value stocks increases both short term volatility and long term gains.
8. Traditionally a 7.9 year US stocks > International Stocks cycle, International stocks have unperformed relative to US stocks over the past 11 years. International stocks might be due to outperform US stocks.
Adding exposure to International stocks might improve performance.
9. Setting up a ROTH IRA for a child and re-balancing annually could prove to be very lucrative for your child.
