10 things I'm not interested in
1. Horror Movies
I may have seen a handful of movies that were good as thrillers, but I don't know why I'd want to be scared or horrified or see fear and suffering in my spare time that I'm using for escapism and entertainment.
2. Podcasts
I tune out of meetings sometimes, and a podcast is way less important. People talk slowly compared to my reading speed., so it's not an efficient way to convey information.
3. Pro Sports
I'll watch the Super Bowl, or maybe a hockey game with friends, but that's as much about beer and junk food as anything else, at least to me. Any game's outcome is basically inconsequential and there's a lot of dead time where nothing's going on.
4. Gardening
I like green spaces, but this seems like a lot of dirty work and waiting around to see results.
5. TikTok
I know there's a lot going on with this platform, but the trends that spill over to Instagram (another platform I said I wouldn't engage in a few years ago), seem to indicate that shaking your but and pointing at graphics is the new way to convey information. Hard pass.
6. Kardashians
I have never seen an episode of this. I can name the 3 main daughters, and maybe a few of the extended family, but that's about it.
7. India as a travel destination
It's less trendy now, but I think there was a while when it was all the rage to go to India for some kind of faux-spiritual reasons. It's entirely possible to want to visit for legitimately spiritual reasons, and I'm sure it has a lot to recommend it as a tourist destination, but so do many other places, and I don't think India would make the cut of places I want to travel to.
8. Cannabis
It's legal in Canada, and I've had a pleasant experience once or twice with edibles, but smoking it doesn't interest me at all, and I've also tried CBD products that did nothing.
9. Pottery and Sculpting
An artistic medium I don't think I'd ever bother with.
10. Snowboarding
Most people I know who snowboard transitioned from skiing. I guess they got bored of it and wanted a change. I don't think I could get bored of skiing, and I like being able to get onto the lifts without having to plonk down in the snow on my butt to unbuckle one foot.
