10 things to check on your resume
1. Grammar and spelling
2. Headers and footers
3. Formatting
I like a lot of white space on my resume - makes it look cleaner
4. Font type
The font should make it look clean and easy to read
5. Bullets
Nobody wants to read long walls of text
6. Colours
Too much colour and it looks unprofessional. You want to add a splash of colour that accentuates and helps with formatting
7. Dates
For employment history, projects, etc.
8. Certifications
Especially check if they're still valid / if you have renewed them
9. Results-oriented
Are you highlighting what you did? Or what you accomplished and achieved? I'm sure you know what employers are looking for.
10. Title
Is your resume titled with your name? Imagine an employer trying to sift through hundreds of untitled resumes. Make sure it at least has your name and possibly the position you are applying to.
