10 things to do when you check in to a hotel
1. Find the emergency exits
2. Check the bed / covers for dirt, blood, and anything else that doesn't look right
3. Set up your internet
4. Disconnect anything that has a light
For better sleep
5. Turn on AC / heat
6. Grab anything free
For example, if the hotel gives you two water bottles for free, grab it so they replenish it the next day (same for toiletries)
