10 Things To Make Your Home More Comfortable And Cosy
1. Get pets
I recommend getting more than one. They can hang out together. We have had families of cats: between 3 and seven at a time. They are easy to take care of and it is fun to watch them interact with each other. It also means that everyone gets "a cat" to call their own if they want.
2. Wear slippers
3. Have layers of clothing available: sweaters and slippers
In Florida the temperature can vary 30 degrees Fahrenheit or more throughout the day. It is good to have that "Mr. Rogers sweater " available. (He lived in Florida too!)
4. Have a sofa with pillows and blankets on it so that you can build a nest for yourself
5. Have different types of flooring
Transitioning between tile, wood, concrete and carpet is refreshing
6. Use indirect lighting
You don't need to get fancy: just point a lamp at the wall instead of directly on your desk.
7. Get a good coffee maker and drink coffee
You don't have to spend much: I use an electric kettle and French press and grinder: less than $50 in equipment and I make great coffee easily. (Well, coffee the way I like it)
8. Create a small nook for reading: put a chair in a nice spot
9. Have blankets and pillows on the sofa
Just in case!
