10 Things You Have Learned In The Past 5 Years

    1. It's easy to lose a year or two scrolling on social media.

Those dopamine inducing apps are an easy hole to get sucked into.

    2. Don't beat yourself way.

Be kind to yourself, always, above all always. It is the foundation of extending kindness to others.

    3. Figure out your priorities.

When I was in college, my priorities were 1) my health 2) relationships with others in that order. Everything I did kind of followed that. Notice, my academics weren't really a priority, but by focusing on #2, I felt like I got a good college experience.

    4. Be happy when your colleagues succeed.

Even if you don't yet. Just be patient, celebrate wins, be gracious. Your turn will come.

    5. Prioritize protecting your time

Set your life up so that you have full control over your time and schedule. It's the most important thing.

    6. Be grateful every day.

For the little things and for everything.

    7. Let go of expectations.

Expectations are hidden resentments. I have them. They are also a cause of disappointment pretty much every time.

    8. Make experiences.

Try something new. Favor experiences over most things.

    9. Reach out.

To James, to whoever your mentors are...you don't need anything from them, but be friendly and helpful if you can.

    10. Give friendship.

Give of yourself. Everything else will come to you.
