    1. It's darker than I thought

I stumbled upon it and accidentally read the synopsis of season 2, which sounded so crazy that I thought it would be a silly show. It turns out it's at times very dark. It is about nazis, after all.

    2. People don't talk like that in real life

The writers try to add funny lines by making characters say something in a funny way, such as "I'm as anxious as a praying mantis before getting decapitated after orgasm" (or whatever; just a random example), and it's just cringey. Several characters do it. In real life, almost nobody does this.

    3. Josh Radnor

I remember him from How I Met Your Mother, and I like him because he started directing cute independent movies and then even started releasing music. I thought he was done with acting. Anyway, his character here is ridiculous though 😃

    4. It IS silly

It may be dark and violent, but then there's that last episode... It's just... ridiculous. But also, why not? But also, why? I personally like it when it's over-the-top, but I must acknowledge the silliness of it.

    5. I did enjoy that twist

    6. Nazis often make fiction more entertaining

Is it because there's a common fascination we share towards Nazi Germany? I don't know.

    7. "Based on true events" is a bold thing to say

It's loosely based on "true events" in the sense that there were German nazis in America, and there were "nazi hunters" trying to track down nazis, but they were "hunting" them through legal means. Nothing close to what goes on in the show.

    8. although Operation Paperclip was a real thing

As I was writing this list, I thought I'd google some things. I knew that Wernher von Braun was a Nazi hired by NASA after the war, and I had heard of Nazis hired by the US, but I wasn't aware that they hired over 1600 of them.

    9. Uchronia / Alternate history

I guess this sort of qualifies as a uchronia or alternate history. I don't know the difference between these two terms. Interestingly, I can only think of two other examples, and they both involve nazis: Inglourious Basterds and The Man In The High Castle. I'm now rather curious about the latter (I'm already a fan of the former).

    10. The last scene is hilarious and a great cliffhanger

Again, it's ridiculous. But man. How could I not be tempted to watch the second season?
