10 ways to be less obsessed about yourself
+ 5 from the AI Assistant.

1. Aim to make others comfortable rather than worry about whether they will like you
I got this from a Jordan Peterson clip about social anxiety. He was saying that instead of worrying whether people will like you when you go to a party, you should aim to make others feel comfortable, and supposedly that switches your mindset. It makes sense to me (I don't suffer from social anxiety though, or at least I don't anymore).
2. Instead of obsessing about your own happiness, think about how you can make others happy
This isn't to say you shouldn't make steps to improve your own well-being, but obsessing over it probably won't help.
3. Volunteering
4. Random acts of kindness
5. Loving-kindness meditation
Apparently, there was a study that found that practicing meditation and yoga can actually make you more self-centered and less generous. I haven't looked deeper into it, I don't know if it's a reliable piece of information. But I can't imagine loving-kindness meditation (a specific type of meditation) leading to such results.
6. Seek out people that you admire
Rather than seeking to be admired.

7. Don't use mirrors too much

8. Spend money on other people
9. Seek work that has a positive impact outside of yourself
10. Be actively more curious about people when you talk with them
"Tell me more about that."
"What made you want to do this?"
"What do you like about this particular thing?"
"Is there something you can teach me?"
11. Don't Compare Yourself to Others
Constantly comparing yourself to others is a surefire way to become obsessed with yourself. After all, if you're always measuring yourself against others, you're bound to find yourself coming up short.
12. Accept Your Flaws
We all have them, so why spend so much time obsessing over them? Accepting your flaws is a key part of selflove, and it's an important step in learning to love yourself just the way you are.
13. be kind to others, you should also be kind to yourself. That means speaking to yourself in a positive way, treating yourself with respect, and being forgiving when you make a mistake.
14. Do Something for Someone Else
One of the best ways to take the focus off of yourself is to do something for someone else. Whether it's volunteering your time, donating to a worthy cause, or simply performing a random act of kindness, giving back is a great way to shift your perspective.
15. Focus on the Positive
It's easy to dwell on the negative, but it's important to focus on the positive, too. Make it a point to focus on the good things in your life, and you'll soon find that you're obsessing over yourself a whole lot less.
