12 ways to have a fresh start in the morning
1. Wake up ten minutes earlier
2. Make eye contact and greet people as you pass them each day.
3. Write down 3 things you are grateful for each day before breakfast
It's interesting because it's not just about being grateful for what we have but also about being mindful about what is going on in our lives every day so we can appreciate it. It's like appreciating each breath as we take it so we don't take life for granted.
Here's an article that explains it more: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/articles/20170628-why-keeping-gratitude-journal-can-transform-your-life
4. Call someone you love each morning before breakfast and tell them why you love them and how they inspire you.
I do this every day with my daughter when she wakes up in LA and with my son when he wakes up here in NYC (or wherever he happens to be). It always makes me feel good no matter how I am feeling that particular morning. And I've found that if I am consistent about this then others are much more likely to be consistent about returning my calls and texts later in the day if I need help or support from them.
If someone does this for me first then I am very motivated to return the favor later in the day if needed because it creates such good feelings within me when someone does this for me first thing in the morning (even if I am having a bad morning). So try it! Here's an article that describes how one couple did this every single morning for 30 years until one of them died: https://www.inc.com/james-altucher/this-couple-texted-eachother-everyday-for-30yrs–anditwasamazinglybeautifuliwasblownawaybyitall_b_711142 .html
