2023 Health Plan
My plan for this year
1. Fast more
Did this less in 2022. Gained weight.
I can easily make it to dinner without eating, as long as I don't workout before (walking is ok). Would like to fast until dinner 2-4 days a week. Will allow cream in a coffee around 1-2pm, if I plan on fasting until dinner.
When I eat only 1 meal a day, I don't have to worry about what I'm eating. I love food, so it's better to avoid it during the day and then enjoy dinner. in 2020 I actually ate terrible, but because I fasted a lot and walked a lot, I was in the best shape I've been in in about 10 years.
2. Walk more
Would like to walk in the morning with my coffee. Can do this with my wife. Then walk mid-day. Then evening walk after dinner. I have a bad back, but I do like to play sports, so will save the impact for sports.
3. Lift 2-3 days a week
I lifted a lot more in 2022. I don't have trouble building muscle. I'm going to lift weights less this year and focus more on fasting and food.
4. Low carb
If I have a choice. And on the days I eat more than once. This works for me. The days I lift, I will likely eat more food.
5. Play sports
I haven't done this much the last few years. Want to get back to this more. I love to play, but I don't have people to play with right now.
6. Less dairy
I love cheese and cream in my coffee. For some reason, when I put cream in my coffee or eat a lot of cheese, I gain weight. I love coffee, so need an alternative to just black coffee, which I still mostly drink.
7. Cinnamon Sticks in coffee
Haven't done this in over a year and used to put them in my coffee every day. Good replacement for cream. Makes the coffee taste sweet, even though there's no sugar.
8. Drink more water
Don't do a great job here.
9. Eat more soup
Seems to fill me up without a lot of calories.
10. More yoga
The year I fasted a lot, I did a lot of Yoga. Almost every day. I felt good and maybe the yoga reduces stress?
11. Take hot baths/ Sauna
Similar to #10. When I move, I want to join a nice gym that has a sauna or steam room.
