5 Laws and Theories That are Influencing How I Think in 2022
I think there are more than 5.
1. Prospect Theory
This theory indicates how we fail to consider certain factors rationally (although we think we are being rational). For example, we overestimate benefits and underestimate costs in the ‘planning fallacy.’
2. Memetic Theory
“Man is the creature who does not know what to desire, and he turns to others in order to make up his mind. We desire what others desire because we imitate their desires.”
What opportunities are we missing because we chase prestige or approvals from others?
3. Conway’s Law
Conway’s Law states that “Organizations, who design systems, are constrained to produce designs that are copies of these organizations’ communication structures.”
It may be better to reverse engineer the Law and design organizations to match the desired architecture.
4. Murphy’s Law
“Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.”
Plan for failure. How to build resiliency or even antifragility? For individuals, organizations, systems, etc.
5. Hypponen's Law
"if it is smart, it is hackable"
Smartphones, smart homes, smart cars, etc.
This means everything we build should be secured by design. Even in our personal life.
