7 lies to learning Vs New Beliefs (Adapted from 'Limitless' - Jim Kwik)
Jim Kwik is what any random person would call a "genius." His recall of numbers and names on YouTube, as well as other brain tricks, is insane.
But he didn't start out that way. In short, he had a "head injury" as a child that impaired his ability to learn and focus.
And for the same reason, he breaks it down in "Limitless - Upgrade the Brain, Learn anything Faster and Unlock your Exceptional life."
So here are "7 lies to learning" and new beliefs to replace them with:

1. Intelligence is Fixed
It's tempting to think intelligence is fixed when you see how some people outperform others, especially in school settings.
But what matters is a growth mindset. It's the attitude necessary to improve anything we put our minds to.
New belief: Intelligence is fluid
2. We only use 10% of our Brain
While this is widespread, even among scientific journals, new knowledge has found this is not true. We can use the majority of our brains rather than just 10%.
New belief: "I am learning to use my whole brain in the best way possible."
3. Mistakes are failures
One thing with all masters is how much they learn from their failures and from others NOT how much they fear or avoid mistakes.
My whole journey reminds me of a quote from Winston Churchill:
"Success is not final." Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to
continue that counts."
New belief: There's no such thing as failure. Only failure to learn
4. Knowledge is Power
When starting out, you may have this overwhelming feeling that you need MORE and more knowledge/expertise before taking shots or making an impact.
In a world where anything you could ever imagine knowing is merely a click away, knowledge is merely a commodity.
The truth is, it doesn't matter how much you know, but what you do with what you know.
Nothing hurts more than passing great opportunities.
New belief: Knowledge x Action: Power
5. Learning new things is very Difficult
You have to be open-minded; I love how growing a business consists primarily of learning new skills after new skills...
Learning requires patience, a positive attitude, and being adaptable to your own needs, whether you're dyslexic or have sped through the educational system.
It requires consistency, and you can always discover better methods of learning new things.
New belief: When you learn new ways to learn, the challenge of learning new things can be fun, easier, and more enjoyable.
6. The criticism of other people matters
It takes maturity to realize that other people's opinions are based on themselves, their moods, and their perceptions of the world, not you.
New belief: It's not your job to like, love or respect me, its mine.
7. Genius is Born
There is always a method behind what appears to be magic. Instead of believing that people are born "geniuses," consider discovering your "zone of genius" and putting in the effort.
At the end of the day, you have your own zone of genius and the ability to make MAGIC.
New belief: Genius is not born, its only made through Deep Practice
