1. Chris' speaking gig

I recently sold a dining table on Facebook. The person I sold it to heard a bit about Chris' story when he came to collect. He was a member of a farmers' group and put us in touch with the secretary who booked Chris.

2. The Bull Shed

The venue was a cool place called the Bull Shed. Completely off the beaten track, this is a quirky eating place, open two days a week and for special occasions. The food is epic.

3. Mostly dairy farmers

The attendees were predominantly dairy and beef farmers, with some sheep.

4. Three invites

I came away with three invitations to visit with cows. One has prize British Blues. Another has Friesian. One is five minutes down the road. When we moved here, my dream was to find a farm with cows within walking distance!

5. A great night

Nice company, interesting people, farm talk. I learned a bit about important factors in sheep and cow farming. We had a fabulous meal. And Chris did a great talk. You can keep your nightclubs and pubs, this was my kind of night out.
