Best Table Top Role Playing Games that are NOT Dungeons & Dragons (D & D)
(that I have some familiarity with). If you are looking for a wonderful, safe online TTRPG space that focuses on more independent, story-based games you should check out The Gauntlet. I'm not an owner of The Gauntlet - just happy to have found some wonderful people to game with there.

1. Alice is Missing
A one-shot (3 hour only) game where teens are searching for their missing friend and only communicate by text message. Simple rules, all played on Discord (find the AliceBot - it Does EVERYTHING for you) in-person or online.
2. Brindlewood Bay
A role-playing murder-solving game based on media such as Murder She Wrote and Golden Girls. A PBTA (Powered By The Apocolypse) based game with a totally different mystery-solving mechanism than any other game. What starts as a "cozy mystery" game soon changes to a mystery wrapped up in the supernatural in our small New England town.

3. The Between
Another PbtA game that uses a similar mystery system. It's based in Victorian London where you are a monster-hunter... who might have some monster in your own self. (VERY Penny Dreadful). https://www.gauntlet-rpg.com/the-between.html
4. Pasión de las Pasiones
5. Kids on Bikes
(Kickstarting V2.0 fall 2022) If Stranger Things was an RPG.
They say the new version will be simpler - what I look for in a TTRPG these days.
6. Monster of the Week
A PbtA (see a pattern here?) game that feels like X-Files or Supernatural
7. Blades in the Dark
You play as part of a villainous crew in Duskvol, a city shrouded in fog and bad energy.
8. Genesys
There are So Many Genesys settings/themes to explore!
I find Genesys' Narrative Dice system (based on the official Star Wars TTRPGs) really fun when play gets going but the system is a bit fussy for me.
