The Yangtze River (Yangzi or Chánggǎng Jiāng) is the longest river in Asia, at 6,380 km long. It flows for most of its course through China, and it is the third longest river in the world. The Yangtze River is known as Cháng Jiāng (長江) in Chinese and Dà Hàn Giang (大漢江) in Pinyin. It is also often referred to as the "Mother River" by the Chinese people.
